The Telly Awards has named Creative Video of Washington as winner of three awards in the 35th Annual Telly Awards for video production and editing. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor. Creative Video won awards for “Live Event Production,” “Editing” and for “Editing: Use of Graphics.”
The “Live Event Production”award was for for the 2013 Presidential Inauguration show, “In Performance at the Kennedy Center.” The Latino Inaugural Concert was hosted by actress Eva Longoria featuring performances by Antonio Banderas, Rosario Dawson, Raul Esparza, Jose Feliciano, George Lopez, Rita Moreno, Chita Rivera, Wilmer Valderrama, Ballet Hispanico, the Pan American Orchestra, and many other entertainers. Creative Video provided and directed all the camera work seen on the feeds for the worldwide audience.
Creative Video President Kirby Whyte congratulated the entire Latino Inaugural crew for the Live Event award. “Director Matt Eidemiller and the rest of the crew assembled a fantastic team for major live events. They did an outstanding job with minimal preparation and a lot of “on the fly” decisions. It was a well executed performance by all involved.”
Creative Video Editor Kristen Westphal won two Tellys for her creative editing. The first editing award was for the American Truck Dealer Commercial Truck of the Year Nominee Video. It showcases the top truck entries in the heavy and medium duty categories. The winners are announced during the annual ATD Convention & Expo. The video not only highlights each of the trucks’ various features but also includes insights from the panel of judges as well as fleet managers and truck technicians.
“I’ve always really enjoyed working with ATD producing this video,” editor Kristen Westphal said. “It allows me to be very creative, both with the editing and the graphics, which is a lot of fun. I look forward to it each year.” The video won the Telly award for the editing.
Westphal’s second Editing Telly was for her creative use of graphic images of text messaging to demonstrate a mobile app for an American Institute of Architects conference. The video relied almost completely on the use of graphics, on the creation of the mobile phone world and the use of text messages rather then voiceover narration to tell the story. The video was awarded the Telly Award for its “Use of Graphics.”
